Frequently Asked Questions
Will insurance cover my visits?
Insurance coverage can vary depending on your specific plan and the services being provided. Most visits are billed through insurance, but copays, deductibles, and coinsurance may still apply.
Coverage for medical weight management, dietitian visits, lab work, and medications can all differ from plan to plan.
Our team will help verify benefits, but we always recommend checking directly with your insurance provider for the most accurate information regarding your coverage and out-of-pocket responsibility.
How Insurance Works
In addition to appointment costs, some patients may have additional expenses depending on their treatment plan. This can include lab work, supplements, or specialty testing if recommended by your provider.
Not every patient will need these services, and any recommendations will be discussed with you before moving forward.
What Are the Additional Costs?
If we currently do not accept your insurance plan, we do have a self-pay option for our services.
$350 First Visit for Weight Care
$175 Per Weight Care Follow-Up Visits
$148 First visit with Dietitian
$74 Per Dietitian Follow-Up Visits
What about if my insurance plan isn’t accepted?
Coverage for weight loss medications varies significantly between insurance plans. Some plans provide coverage, while others may exclude these medications entirely, even when medically necessary.
If a medication is recommended, our team will work to determine coverage, submit prior authorizations when appropriate, and discuss alternative options if needed.
Out-of-pocket costs can vary depending on the medication, pharmacy, and your individual insurance benefits.
What About Medication Coverage?
We prescribe all FDA-approved weight-loss medications when medically appropriate. After your comprehensive intake visit, your provider will determine whether medication is recommended based on your health history, lab results, and treatment goals.
Our prescribing approach is individualized. When medication is appropriate, we may use options including GLP-1–based therapies or other oral FDA-approved treatments. All prescriptions are made at the discretion of your provider and only when they are considered safe and clinically indicated. Medication is just one tool in our comprehensive program, and we combine it with nutrition support, body composition data, and ongoing medical care so you can achieve sustainable, long-term results.
As a part of the intake process, we will research which medications your insurance plan will cover and submit any necessary prior authorizations. If your insurance doesn’t cover your preferred medication, we will discuss with you the most cost-effective alternatives.
Do your prescribe GLP medications?
No, your medical provider and dietitian will work with you to determine if a medication is right for you.
Do all patients have to take a medication?
Yes. You will have a baseline series of blood tests to assess metabolic health, unless you have already had recent bloodwork done through your PCP. The blood tests will be followed over time to assess progress in the program. Blood pressure monitoring will also be an important metric.
Do you do blood tests?
Your first intake visit will be in-person. After that, you may switch to tele-visits.
Do you offer tele-visits?
Our Body Composition Analysis provides a more complete picture of your health than the number on a scale alone. For $28, this assessment measures body fat percentage, visceral fat (which is associated with metabolic and cardiovascular disease), and muscle mass.
Unlike BMI, body composition tracking helps us better understand changes happening within your body over time and helps ensure you are losing primarily body fat rather than muscle mass during your weight loss journey.
Because this service is considered elective wellness monitoring, it is not covered by insurance.
We typically recommend completing a body composition analysis monthly while actively losing weight. If monthly visits are not possible, every three months is still beneficial for tracking progress. During maintenance, we generally recommend measurements every three to six months.
What Is a Body Composition Analysis?
